Mike was an adviser and inspector responsible for developing art, design and technology in schools and colleges. He was interested in the development of creative thinking skills. He was a practicing artist and believed that drawing is a visual language that can communicate ideas and information through images. He joined the Didsbury Drawing Group at its beginning and looked forward to the sessions. He said that drawing is the practice of applying marks as line, shape, pattern, texture and tone to a surface or support such as paper using various medium.
He did not want to be constrained by attempts at photographic reality.
He exhibited in many open exhibitions and his work is now in several private collections.
If you would like to buy any of Mike’s paintings or drawings, enquiries should be made to the family at
email@example.com, all proceeds will be donated to The Christie Hospital.
