I thoroughly enjoyed the six years that I was able to be part of the Didsbury Drawing group. It is one of the few things that I regret leaving behind with my move to rural Devon.
The access to a wide variety of life models, made accessible financially by being self-led, enabled me to take my work in my own direction. The ethos of private working, not looking at others work allowed me to grow in confidence, not feeling ‘compared’ to the other members of the drawing group. (Although, I must confess, I occasionally sidled up to some of the other artists and told them that I thought that their work was brilliant. Sorry Cecile)
I am primarily a fine art printmaker, specialising in etching but I also work in textile media, particularly in felt.
