The invite came to join DD in about 2008 and we were working in seclusion at the lovely venue of the Village Hall, owned and managed by Linda Chase Broda as a community resource. The ruling was that we were not to overlook other artists’s drawings so we all had our backs to the wall as it were and facing the model. Linda’s rules were strict to maintain the quality of the venue and we all carefully protected the beautiful timber floor from crushed charcoal, pastel, or other media. Most, about twelve, artists had easels but some worked on the floor.
I was self conscious amongst these skilled people but gradually relaxed and enjoyed purely watercolour painted images. We rotated setting the poses through the varying nude models. I left the group in 2011.
